Colorado Auto Insurance

You must have auto insurance coverage when driving on the public roads of Colorado. Drivers must then meet the required proof of liability coverage before the vehicle can be registered. Colorado state minimum auto insurance coverage is :

$25,000 for bodily injury per person per accident

$50,000 for bodily injury for more than one person per accident

$15,000 for property damage per accident

When driving in Colorado you must always remember to have your proof of registration and insurance. If found guilty of driving without proof of insurance, the driver will be fined a minimum amount of $550 and will have four points added to their motor vehicle record. If a second violation occurs then the driver may end up paying the minimum fine of $1000 and have their drivers license suspended for four months. And for the third violation, the driver must pay $1000 and have their drivers license suspended for eight months. For failure to have auto insurance coverage in Colorado three times the driver may also be ordered to serve community service for up to 40 hours. You might ask - How do they know ? Well, the state of Colorado requires all auto insurance companies to provide the status of the insurance policies of their customers.
